more about rooted

Rooted is a 10-week small group experience designed to connect you to God, the church, and your purpose. Together, in a group of 10-15 people from all walks of life, you’ll explore the Bible, engage in prayer and serve experiences, share stories, and practice rhythms essential to a healthy spiritual life. These spiritual rhythms aren’t new, or something the church recently created, every one of them is found in Acts 2 where the early church began.

The next Rooted Course is coming in January of 2022.

Q: I’ve taken Bible study classes for years, why should I take Rooted?
Rooted is an adventure we are all undertaking together and we don’t want you to miss out on what God has planned for you. Whether you’ve been a Christian your whole life or one day, we believe Rooted will impact you and deepen your faith.

Rooted isn’t just about head knowledge, it’s about taking risks and allowing Christ to transform our lives. We’ll practice these seven rhythms essential to a healthy relationship with Jesus – daily devotion, prayer, freedom from strongholds, sacrificial generosity, serving the community, sharing your story and celebrating.

Q: Will there be homework and how much time will it take?
There are short daily readings and reflection questions five days a week. You can expect to spend around 30 minutes each day writing, reflecting, and listening.

Q: What if I can’t make all 10 weeks?
We understand that Rooted is a substantial time commitment, however, we truly believe it’s worth your investment to participate in the entire process. Therefore, we recommend that you not miss more than two weeks, otherwise you won’t get the full Rooted experience. Missing three or more weeks also affects other members of your group. When you miss out on things that are shared, it inevitably changes the group dynamic when you return. If your schedule won’t allow you to participate in the whole experience this session, we ask that you wait until the next session is offered.

Q: When will I get my Rooted book?
The Rooted books will be handed out at the Rooted launch event on Sept. 12th. If you are unable to attend the launch event, your Rooted group leader will have your book with them when your group meets together.

Q: Where will my Rooted group meet?
Most of our Rooted groups will meet in a group member’s home. After completing your registration online, you’ll be contacted by your group facilitator to set up the details of when and where you’ll meet.

Q: How will groups be chosen?
Participants will prayerfully place participants into groups of about 10-14 people. Each group will be unique; we’ll have some formed by specific life stages and some that are more multigenerational. Groups will have between 10-14 participants, depending on demand and availability of facilitators. A substantial amount of prayer and consideration goes into creating groups that we believe will provide the best experience for everyone.

Q: Can I share a book with someone?
Because the Rooted experience is a personal and powerful journey, it’s essential that every participant has their own book to use for reflection. There is an opportunity on the registration form to receive a scholarship if there is a financial need.
