Battle Ready Sheep

  • Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

DISCUSSION GUIDE

Personal Reflection Questions:

  1. Where has sin crept in and made you less alert? Confess these to God.

  2. What things have your attention that are warping your mind? Make a plan to eliminate these influences from your life.

Group Reflection Questions:

  1. How does having a group of believers help you stand firm in the faith?

  2. Stop and pray for one another, pray specifically around the things that are influencing your minds.

  3. What does it mean to rest in the Chief Shepherd’s presence? Make a plan to spend some time in God’s presence this week and hold one another accountable to that plan.

Take some time to sit silently before God.

What action will you take this week because of what you heard from the Lord during the teaching of His Word?
